LOEK@YOU believes that all children and young people should be able to grow up healthy and safe. In our view, this also includes the right to education that applies in the Netherlands. However, this is not self-evident for every child or young person. Education should be fun, useful, and instructive, but for many children, education in the Netherlands is difficult, unsafe, or even very hard. It is even the case that thousands of children and young people in the Netherlands stay at home because there is no suitable education for them. In this way, children and young people are excluded from the right to education, their well-being is affected, and some even become ill because of it.

The described target group is an inspiration for the LOEK@YOU team. It is not easy for a child/young person to experience this in their early years. That is why we find it better to prevent situations such as escalation problems and (early) school dropout.

MISSION

For children and young people who need extra support at school or children and young people who are in the exceptional situation where they cannot participate in education, we offer the opportunity to Learn On Their Own Strength where well-being and development go hand in hand.

Stichting LOEK@YOU aims to:

a. Help children and young people for whom participation in (appropriate) education is not self-evident, so that the well-being, development, and social participation of those children and young people can fully flourish within their possibilities.

b. Support parents in their search for tailored guidance for these children in the fields of education and care.

c. Make specifically needed facilities and environments accessible to the children, young people, and their caregivers for this target group.

d. Provide information, share knowledge with, and offer support to organizations and professionals in the fields of education and care to improve the position of these children and young people.

e. Perform all other actions related to and conducive to the above in the broadest sense.
