Who does not know the fate of a riding school horse that gets older? After years of faithful service and work, the animal is usually written off with all the consequences, such as the slaughterhouse. Why not a well-cared-for old age for such a horse or pony? Because it costs money to maintain such a horse in that case. For that reason, Stichting Paardenwelzijn na Gedane Arbeid was founded in 2001.
The foundation focuses on providing shelter, (medical) care and love to the worn-out (riding school) horse. By raising funds, it tries to continue this objective, so that all old riding school horses can enjoy their old age, in the place where the horse feels comfortable.
